Vejibag 2026: Another Year of Growth & Gratitude

As we step into 2026, we find ourselves reflecting on a year filled with growth, learning, and gratitude. Vejibag started as a simple idea: keep vegetables fresh without plastic. But what began as a small project has blossomed into a meaningful community of home cooks, gardeners, and small businesses who care about the same things we do: ethical production, sustainable living, and reducing food waste.

We remember the early days when Sally sewed the first Vejibags herself, where she was living at the time in a small village in Maine. Each stitch felt like a tiny act of hope — a hope that people would embrace a different way of storing produce, one that respects the life of the vegetable, the planet, and the people who make the bags. Today, our bags are sewn by skilled craftspeople at Opportunity Threads in North Carolina, where fair wages and sustainable practices are the standard. Every bag, from the Mini to the Extra Large, represents that commitment.

Looking back, it’s the stories from our community that have been the most inspiring. Parents who manage busy schedules yet still want to reduce waste, gardeners harvesting bountiful greens, small retailers who want to offer products that align with their values — your stories remind us that sustainability is both personal and collective.

We’ve also been learning how to make our processes more circular and less wasteful. Scraps from production are saved and repurposed, our packaging is fully compostable, and we continuously seek ways to reduce emissions from shipping. It’s not perfect, but we’re proud of each step forward.

And of course, there’s the joy of seeing produce stay crisp for longer. There’s something deeply satisfying about a kale leaf still vibrant seven days after harvest, or a head of lettuce that looks as fresh on Friday as it did on Monday. Those small victories make all the work worthwhile.

As we enter this new year, we want to thank every Vejibag owner for being part of this journey. Every time you choose a Vejibag over single-use plastic, you contribute to a ripple effect of sustainability, ethics, and mindful living.

We can’t wait to share more stories, tips, and behind-the-scenes glimpses with you throughout 2026. Here’s to another year of fresh produce, thoughtful choices, and a community that continues to grow with us.

Warmly,
Ann & Stacy
